Dirk could feel John relax a little and that made him happy. He definitely didn’t want the younger man to feel uncomfortable at all if he could help it. “Oh really? Yeah, I’ve been avoiding going out to eat, actually, at least for anything that takes time to eat. I feel silly eating alone. Which is fucking stupid, I know, but I guess it’s human nature.” He shrugged and smiled, “Breakfast food is my favorite. It’s just the best. Everything about it is yes.”He smiled again. John really did look cute. It was nice, having him around and looking cute like that. “Yeah man, no problem. You always look nice, though. Maybe I should tell you more often.” A small laugh escaped him, “You didn’t know? Oh shit, sorry, I would’ve told you if I knew you didn’t know. His blush darkened and he turned his head away to hide it. “N-nooo. I’m dumb and dorky looking. And my teeth are stupid.” The more Dirk kept at it the more he’d deny it, huff. He got one freebie and he’d used it. He shook his head though. “That’s really cool.” He smiled again, shaking his head. “That’s fine. I don’t mind.”
Honestly, Dirk hadn’t been ready for anything close to a relationship for quite some time. But right now, he was...
John’s brows knit a little at the explanation, tilting his head curiously. He… thought he’d drive him off? "I-” …maybe...
