Dirk frowned a little as John realized that a milkshake wouldn’t be the best idea for him. It gave him another idea, though. “Hey, how about later on after we’ve sufficiently digested all our breakfast, we run out and maybe get some stuff for our own milkshakes? Or sundaes, even.” He hoped that wasn’t too lame; Dave always liked doing make your own sundaes, although he was also fairly young, too.He smiled, though, as it seemed John had gained an appetite. I’m… Ha, really hungry.” John had kinda stopped eating for a while, even before he was hospitalized. His body was too exhausted to process the food, and then once he got out he… well. Lost his appetite for other reasons. Maybe he was finally starting to get over that whole… ugly snafu. Here’s hoping. “I want cheese on my hash browns. And toast. And everything.”
Honestly, Dirk hadn’t been ready for anything close to a relationship for quite some time. But right now, he was...
John’s brows knit a little at the explanation, tilting his head curiously. He… thought he’d drive him off? "I-” …maybe...
