“Heh, I just use it for fruit smoothies sometimes, you’ll be okay. And I’ll make sure to keep an eye on the food I get for the house.” He shook his head, smiling gently, “It’s okay, nothing to be embarrassed about. It’s not like you can help it.”Dirk glanced through the menu a little more, looking up, “Oh yeah man, you can add whatever you want.” He smiled, humming softly and setting his menu down and folding his hands. “Cheese is bomb on everything, man. I bet it’ll be delicious on your hash browns and stuff.” He took a second to adjust his shades, glancing up and seeing a waitress approach. “Ah, perfect, one step closer to breakfast land.”

John was excited for a moment or two, before his face fell. “Oh, shit.” He thunked the heel of his palm against his forehead. “I forgot my damn wallet. Shit. I’m sorry. Hey-” He tried to call the waitress back, ready to cancel his order. Maybe another day he’d eat a mountain of cheese-covered breakfast food.
Honestly, Dirk hadn’t been ready for anything close to a relationship for quite some time. But right now, he was...
John’s brows knit a little at the explanation, tilting his head curiously. He… thought he’d drive him off? "I-” …maybe...
